Nearbyers Terms of Use

Last updated: July 12, 2026

By accepting these Terms, you agree to follow these rules whenever you use Nearbyers. Nearbyers is for adults aged 18 or older. If you do not agree, do not create a card or use the app.

Also see the Privacy Policy and Child Safety Standards.

How Nearbyers works

Nearbyers has no accounts or backend chat server. When your beacon is on, your card is sent directly to Nearbyers users in radio range. Messages are exchanged directly between devices. You choose what to put on your card and whether to start or accept a chat.

Community rules

Do not use Nearbyers to create, request, send, or promote:

Do not evade another person's block, pressure anyone to meet, or continue contact after they say no. Content and conduct must also comply with applicable law and Google Play policies.

Your content

You are responsible for the profile, photo, and messages you share. Only share content you have the right to use, and remember that nearby recipients can copy what they receive. Nearbyers does not claim ownership of your content and does not receive a copy on a developer server.

Reports, blocks, and enforcement

You can block a person in the app to stop their device from contacting yours and delete your local conversation with them. You can also report a person or problem from their card or Settings. Reports are sent only when you choose to send the prepared email.

Reports may be investigated, referred to the appropriate authority, or otherwise acted on as required by law. Because the service is serverless and has no accounts, the developer cannot remotely inspect devices, delete device-to-device content, or guarantee that a reported person cannot reinstall the app.

Real-world safety

Nearbyers connects strangers but does not verify identities, run background checks, supervise meetings, or provide emergency services. Meet in public, tell someone you trust, protect your personal information, and leave if anything feels wrong. Call local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.

Availability and responsibility

Radio discovery and delivery can fail, arrive late, or stop when devices move out of range. The app is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted service. To the extent allowed by law, you remain responsible for your interactions and decisions involving other users.

Changes and ending use

You may stop using Nearbyers at any time and erase local app data from Settings. Material changes to these Terms will be shown in the app and may require you to accept them before continuing.
